Volleyball team winners of seven straight matches

The Custer High School volleyball team won a pair of matches against Hot Springs and Douglas last week, bringing to seven its winning streak.

The girls beat Hot Springs in five sets (20-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-22 and 15-9) and Douglas in four sets (25-14, 22-25, 25-14 and 25-21).

Kenzie Becker led the Wildcats against the Douglas Patriots with 15 assists, while Renee Kirk and Torrie Murray each finished with five kills.

The Wildcats played in a triangular match against Hill City and Wall Tuesday night and will face Hot Springs again on home turf Friday, Oct. 20, starting at 5 p.m.

The Wildcats have a record of 16-9 so far this season and sit tied with St. Thomas More as the fourth seed in the region as the regular season begins to wind down.
