Fifth graders and kindergartners took over the cafeteria of Hill City Middle School Dec. 13 to showcase their gingerbread house-making talents.
Although it is not certain when this tradition began, the fifth graders were eager to help their younger peers, as many remember being helped when they were in kindergarten.
“I just like how the fifth grade is helping me,” said Ainsley Becher, age 5. She called the experience “easy peasy lemon squeezy.”
Ainsley was working with Bayleigh Ogaard, who also liked helping the kindergartners.
