Entries sought for parade of lights

The 33rd Annual Custer Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3, at 5:30 pm.
The annual parade of lights signals the kick-off of the holiday season in the southern Hills. After the parade, people can attend the Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony at Way Park. The parade will begin at 8th Street and Mt. Rushmore Road and end at Way Park on 4th Street and Mt. Rushmore Road.
People interested in entering the parade can call the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce at 605-673-2244, fill out the online form at forms.gle/VTqjH1SK7Rhm9HVPA or download a registration form at custersd.com/Custer-Christmas-Parade.
Deadline for entry is Dec. 2; there is no fee for participating.
The following awards will be presented: Custer’s Christmas Star (entry displaying the best creativity and originality), Custer’s Holiday Spirit Award (entry with the most enthusiastic participants), Fruitcake Award (entry with the most humorous display), Custer’s Caroling Award (entry with the best music) and Elfin Magic Award (entry best featuring children).
