Narrow win for Keystone incumbent

Keystone voters came out Tuesday, April 9 to cast their votes for the three-year on the Keystone Town Board of Trustees.
There were three absentee votes, with most people opting to vote in person. While 103 people cast their ballots overall, two votes were thrown out because they were filled out incorrectly.
According to town finance officer Samantha Epler incorrect ballots were printed and used early in the day. The ballots asked voters to choose two candidates when in fact only one seat was open.
In a 51-50 vote residents chose incumbent Matt Fullilove over opponent David Cofoid.
“I am humbled,” said Fullilove about his win. “I want to thank the voters who believed in me.”
Fullilove is “looking forward to continuing the hard work on infrastructure and serving the quaint little town of Keystone.”
Cofoid also thanked everyone who voted for him. He has yet to decide if he will contest the election, as he is waiting until the official election canvas.
There is one provisional vote not counted on election night, pending verifcation that the individual is a registered in the Keystone precinct. If that vote is for Cofoid it would mean a tie.
