Dwain Hudson


Dwain Franklin Hudson was born Jan. 23, 1946, in Orlando, Fla., to QP and Thelma Lee (Waters) Hudson. He took pride in serving his communities as a highway patrolman and volunteer firefighter. Dwain was a Master Mason and competed in the Cowboy Action Shooting Competitions.

Dwain, of Custer, S.D., died April 17, 2019, at Custer Regional Hospital. He was 73.

His is survived by his wife, Caffy Hudson of Custer; sons, Dwain Franklin (Brenda) Hudson, Jr., of Elizabeth, Colo., and Jack Franklin Hudson of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; sisters, Susie (Bill) DeVine of Billings, Mont., and Sandra (Mike) Grooms of Ocala, Fla.; and two grandchildren,  Eliza Grace Hudson and Kevin Hudson.

Memorial services were April 27 at Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer with firefighter Bill Bell’s Ceremony.
