Sherri Dawn Timperley was born April, 30, 1963, in Columbia, Mo., to Dwight D. Hale and P. Elaine (Davis) Hale. She moved to Huron, S.D., at the age of 3.
Being a dancer and choreographer, she was very involved with the local Center Stage Theater group in her hometown. Sherri attended college at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Huron College and graduated from South Dakota State Universtiy with a bachelor of science degree in microbiology. She worked many years in an analytical lab and a micro lab as a microbiologist until her love of nature led her to follow her dream and move to the Black Hills of South Dakota in 2014.
Sherri, of Custer, S.D., died Feb., 25, 2019, at Rapid City (S.D.) Regional Hospital. She was 55.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Timperley of Custer; daughters, Amber (Zach) Gronewold of Humboldt, S.D., and April (Jim) Wingle of Custer; father, Dwight Hale of Huron; mother, Elaine Hale of Custer; sister, Cindi (Terry) Ivesdal of Custer; grandchildren, Cheyenne Gronewold, Ayva Gronewold, Isabell Gronewold, and Jewell Wingle; and nephews, Tyler Herding and Uriah Herding.
Memorial services were March 2 at Custer Lutheran Fellowship with Rev. Pam Power officiating.
