Wesley William Hunt was born Aug. 9, 1931, to Harold and Mable (Havens) Hunt in Rushville, Neb.
Wesley proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War in the Infantry Regiment from 1950 to 192. He was honorably discharged in 1952.
Wesley married the love of his life, Shirley Ann (Williamson) Hunt, June 5, 1954. They had many wonderful years until her passing on Dec. 16, 2007.
Wesley did many things throughout his life. He worked as an electrician, worked in the forestry business as a log cutter and road builder, served in the Custer County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputies and search and rescue in 1973 and was in the trucking industry for over 50 years from which he retired.
Wesley loved the outdoors. He enjoyed snowmobiling, riding horses, camping and his favorite— creek fishing.
Wesley died Nov. 19, 2018, in his hometown of Custer, S.D., with family by his side. He was 87.
He was preceded in death by his wife; bothers, Verlin, Chet, Ken, Jesse and Jerald; and sister, Bonnie (Bauer).
Wesley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Ron) Moos; brothers, Lauren and Duane Hunt; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
