Sherif's Log Dec. 29 - Jan. 4

Sunday, Dec. 29
10:40 a.m.: A deputy gave a person a ride from Custer to the Cornerstone Rescue Mission in Rapid City. You’ll thank us later. 
12:58 p.m.: A deputy on patrol noticed an open door at a self-storage unit near Custer. Nothing was found to be missing from the unit. 
5:08 p.m.: Deputies refereed a family dispute on Renegade Pass Road. No arrests were made. 
8:59 p.m.: A deputy assisted firefighters with a possible chimney fire on Antelope Street in Pringle. Thankfully no injuries and little damage resulted.

Luke & Lizzie talk dancing dreams

It might seem a little unusual for someone working the front desk at Custer’s YMCA to be wearing metal-tipped tap shoes, but not for Lizzie Anderson who has been dancing her way through life with her big brother, Luke, since both were in grade school. 
Hoping to get in a little tap dancing between helping the folks using the Y, that’s exactly how Lizzie was shod Friday morning when I caught up with her and Luke to talk about their dancing careers: where they’ve come from and where they hope to go.

When Maria Lyndoe was growing up in a poor family in Mexico, gift giving and receiving were not a part of her Christmas, but she looked forward to the holiday nevertheless.
