Ardis Faye Meyer was born Aug. 18, 1935, in New York Mills, Minn. to Martin and Rosena Thompson.

Ardis married Duane Meyer  June 1, 1952.

They have five children: Carol (Delbert) Maxfield family, Delores (James) Hansen Family, Janell (Steve) Quenzer Family, Tamie (Shawn) Zinda Family and Dean Meyer - Wendy Hedge Family

She is also survived by her friend, Terry Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Duane and daughter, Janell.

JeanAnne (Tyler) Wannamaker was born Feb. 22, 1942 in the small farming town of Veblen, S.D., to Lloyd “Frenchie” and Florence (Vrchota) Tyler.
 
Jean Anne met Bill Wannaker, an Air Force man, and married him in Amarillo, Texas. In 1965 they moved to Vancouver, Wash., where they raised two sons, Chris and Kent. The two remained in Vancouver for the full duration (44 yrs) of their marriage until Bill passed away.

Stephen Kruse, 62, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Jan. 31, 2020,  at Sanford Foundation Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls. Private family services will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Hill City Cemetery in Hill City, S.D.

Richard James Morris

Richard James Morris, 81, died peacefully Jan. 15, 2020, at Good Samaritan St. Martin’s Village in Rapid City, S.D.

Morris was born Jan. 1, 1939, in Rapid City to Ralph and Margaret (Boodleman) Morris. He graduated from Hill City (S.D.) High School in 1956. Morris’s family owned and operated Wheel Inn Resort and Sheridan Lake Marina where he worked many summers. Morris then went on to attend college, play in a band and learn his trade as an ironworker.

Gene Lidgett

On Jan. 8, Eugene W. Lidgett, 81, died at his home with his wife by his side.

He was born April 30, 1938, to William and Leota (Bond) Lidgett in Huron, S.D., He was raised at Yale, S.D., where his parents farmed.

Jerry Dee Burnam

Jerry Dee Burnam died Dec. 26, 2019, with his family at his bedside. 

He was 84 and the only child of Walter and Ruth Harris Burnam of East Alton, Ill.

He served in the United States Army as a surface to air missile officer (Nike) stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, S.D. In 1958 he married the former Phyllis Gould of Hill City, S.D.

Milton Donald Brown

Milton Donald “Don” Brown, the son of William J. and Edene S. (Olson) Brown, was born Oct. 12, 1945, in Decatur, Neb. 

Don and family lived in Nebraska and Missouri before moving to the Elliott, Iowa area, where he spent most of his youth. 

Debra Jo Wedlund

Debra Jo Wedlund, 58, died Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Rapid City (S.D.) Regional Hospital.

She was born April 10, 1961, in Eau Claire, Wis., to David and Twyla (Kohn) Vaningan.

Wedlund grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Memorial High School in 1979. She moved to Hill City, S.D., in 1989 and worked at Krull’s Market for over 20 years managing the bakery/deli.
