Annamae Blume

Annamae (Schoenfelder) Blume was born in Chamberlain, S.D., in 1948, to Catharine and Francis Schoenfelder, the third of eight children.
She earned a degree in sociology at South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D., and was a social worker in Lake Andes and Lead, S.D. She helped many families and children and touched many lives throughout her career.
After her retirement in 2011 she moved back to Custer, S.D., to spend time with the greatest joys in her life, her grandchildren, Connor and Reghan.  Being a Grammy was her favorite thing in life.
Annamae loved to make people laugh, shop for clothes, wear bold colors and make photo scrapbooks for her family. She loved all her hats and had a hard time deciding which one to wear. She was a great storyteller and always willing to have a chat and laugh.
Annamae passed away Jan. 29, 2022 in Custer. She was 73.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard; and her sister, Kathy.
Annamae is survived by her son, Steven (Amanda) Blume of Custer and their children Connor and Reghan; siblings, Nob Schoenfelder and Marian Schoenfelder of Rapid City, S.D., Jon Schoenfelder of Sheridan Wyo., Deb Shattil of Oakland, Calif., and Dar Steckelberg of Gig Harbor, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
