Ardis Treloar

Ardis L. Treloar was born June 24, 1941, to Franklin and Dorothy (Huntoon) Olsen. She attended elementary school in a one room school house and then attended Potterville School Systems, graduating high school in 1959.
She worked for several banks in the Lansing, Mich., area and in California after moving there in 1960. She met her future husband, Ronald Treloar, at Camp Pendleton.  Ronald and Ardis were married in 1962 and they had two children, Scott in 1963 and Amber in 1966.
The family lived in El Paso, Texas, until 1977 and then moved to South Dakota where they operated the Dairy Queen in Custer for 10 years. Ardis so enjoyed working with the high school kids at the Dairy Queen. She operated the Tree House Consignment Shop in Custer for three years and then enjoyed retirement.
Ardis passed away Jan. 15, 2023, at Monument Health Custer Hospital in Custer, S.D. She was 81.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Renee) Treloar of Casper, Wyo.; daughter, Amber (Richard) Wright of Custer; brother, Russell (Myrna) Olsen of Michigan; sisters, Barb Logan of Virginia and Donna Woolley of Michigan; brother-in-law, John (Rebecca) Treloar of Texas; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 17, at Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
Committal services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital stjude.org/donate
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
