Boys sink two more wins
The Hill City Rangers boys basketball team drilled into Lead-Deadwood Jan. 16, coming up with a win against the visiting Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers. This puts the Hill City boys basketball team at 7-3 for the season.
The decisive 70-52 win was a collaborative effort with Alex Stoeckmann, Noah Schelske and Devin Buehler all 100 percent on two-point field goal attempts.
Stoeckmann also attempted and nailed one three-pointer and along with Zane Messick was two for two on free throw attempts.
Buehler, Messick and Dax Frandsen each scored in double digits in the win.
“We were hoping to not give up as many points as we did in the first half,” head coach Laramie Haravey said. “Our boys came out strong in the third quarter only giving up six points in the quarter.”
This was not the only win for the team this week. The boys traveled to Sundance, Wyo., Jan 18 coming out on top 61-47 against the Bulldogs.
This week pits the Rangers against Belle Fourche (1-7) on the Broncs’ home court.
“We are going into the Belle game with the same respect and preparation that we have for all our opponents.” Harvey said adding that “Belle is well coached and has a pair of guards that will give us trouble if we are not ready to go.”
