Dan Galloway

Dan Ross Galloway, 80, of Hill City, S.D., passed away peacefully June 1, 2025.
Born in Greensboro, N.C., Oct. 22, 1944, Dan lived a life marked by faith and a deep love for God.
A proud graduate of Grimsley High School, Class of 1963, Dan went on to earn his degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 1967. He built a long and successful career as a sales representative with Dow Chemical working in both Michigan and North Carolina for 34 years.
Dan retired in 2001, but his true calling began well before that—in service to God and others. He brought his passion for missions to JAARS where he supported missionary fundraising efforts and bible translation. His heart for ministry continued as he faithfully taught Bible studies in nursing homes, a commitment he maintained until his final weeks. In Charlotte, NC., Dan was an active member of Calvary Church before relocating to Hill City to be near his daughter and her family. There, he found a new church home at the Little White Church.
Dan was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a man deeply committed to sharing the Gospel. He found joy in studying the Bible and had an enduring heart for evangelism.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Walker, (Ethan) of Hill City and their children, Hadley, Quinn, Frankie and Elizabeth.
Dan was preceded in death by his beloved son, Frankie (1981–89); and his brothers, Craig Galloway of Knoxville, Tenn., and Haddon Galloway of Pleasant Valley, N.C.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 30, at the Little White Church in Hill City.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Dan’s enduring passion for missions, memorial contributions may be made to Africa Christian Ministries - africachristian.org.
