Darrel Booth

Darrel R. Booth passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of Aug. 4, 2022, at Monument Hospice House in Rapid City, S.D., after a courageous battle with cancer.
Darrel was born in Custer, S.D., May 7, 1960. He was son of Charles and Shirley (Hilton) Booth. He was raised in Custer and attended schools in Custer and the South Dakota School for the Blind in Aberdeen, S.D.
Darrel was a selfless and giving person and had many friends. He never let his blindness hold him back and was very independent (and stubborn if the truth be known). He was known to share what he had with others and to make sure that others had what they needed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Shirley and Vicki.
Darrel is survived by his sister, Misty Phillips of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers Mark Tucker of Gillette, Wyo., and Roger Cane of Rapid City; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, “adopted” brother and sister, Ernie and Jeannette Pacheco of Custer; and “adopted” mom and dad, Marvin and Donna Hammer of Custer.
