Donita Kindt

Donita M. Kindt was born in Winner, S.D., and moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., at the age of 2. She attended grades K-12 in the Sioux Falls public school system. After graduation, she received a bachelor of science in elementary education from Dakota State University in Madison, S.D., completed her student teaching in London, England, and went on to receive her master’s from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.
Throughout school Donita waited tables at Bob’s Drive Inn, Britts Coffee Shop and the Skyway Restaurant. After graduation she spent her career in special education. She taught for 40 years at various schools including Las Vegas, Nev., and Rosebud, Kimball, Chamberlain, Corsica, Platte, Custer and Hermosa, all in South Dakota.
In her free time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to concerts and plays, going out to dinner and being involved with her nieces and nephews. 
Donita M. Kindt died Oct. 9, 2019, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. She was 67.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Kindt and Donna Kindt Steiger; brothers, Douglas and Monte Kindt; step-dad, LaVern Steiger; and special friend, Neal Sieger.
She is survived by her sisters, Bobbe (Tom) Schramm of Winner, and Guyla (Kevin) Hohn of Sioux Falls; nieces and nephews, Donny (Suzy) Kindt, Joshua (Becca) Hohn, Nick Kindt, Tanya (Robert) Palmer, Barry (Haley) Schramm, Holly (Heath) Eggleston and Zack (Rachel) Kindt; uncle, Larry Bittner; 14 great-nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; special friends Bette, Cozy, Dixie, Patsy, Deann and Sue; and a host of many other relatives and friends. 
Funeral services were Oct. 14 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls.
