The grinch won’t steal Christmas
If it was up to CNN’s “medical analyst” Dr. Jonathan Reiner, we would all be celebrating Christmas at home and alone, protecting those who we care about the most; you know, our parents, grandparents and neighbors who would be lost and lonely if they could not be with family and friends for the holidays.
“We’re going to cause needless deaths and particularly that's among people we really care about, you know, our most vulnerable...We can’t travel this year. We need to stay home. This is a sacrifice that Americans can make and we should be making it for each other,” Reiner said.
It appears that a grinch like this “analyst” thinks the virus will go away if we just keep isolating ourselves from the world. We should stay locked up in our homes where it is completely safe from the virus that has been blamed for so many deaths in our country. Family members are accustomed to being around each other and many have been visiting with each other since the beginning of this madness earlier this year. Most got together for Thanksgiving.
There is a couple in their mid-70s we know in nearby Hot Springs who have been staying in their home since the virus first reared its ugly head many months ago. They didn’t go anywhere but the grocery store and they made sure they wore masks when they left their home. They only communicated with family and friends via a phone or computer, yet both were diagnosed with the virus and the woman ended up in the hospital.
Those of us who have gone relatively maskless this year have probably developed some kind of immunity to this disease, or we have great immune systems that have kept us healthy while others younger than us have tested positive for the virus. It is entirely possible that we have had a mild case of the virus and brushed it off as a cold or light flu.
People who have been isolating themselves in their homes have to venture out eventually and may find themselves more susceptible to the virus because they have not built up any immunity and their masks may prove to be ineffective.
Influential Canadian Dr. Roger Hodkinson, a specialist in pathology, declared to officials in Alberta through a Zoom teleconference that the current crisis caused by the pandemic of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus or coronavirus is “the greatest deception perpetrated against an unsuspecting public.” The doctor is a virology expert and the CEO of a biotechnology company in charge of manufacturing tests for the virus.
Hodkinson maintains that the virus spread cannot be stopped and only the most vulnerable elderly can be protected. “It should be thought of as nothing more than a bad flu season. This is not Ebola. It’s not SARS. It’s politics playing medicine. And that’s a very dangerous game,” said the pathologist, who also disqualified the usefulness of masks to protect against infection.
“They’re not even worn effectively most of the time. It’s utterly ridiculous,” he said. He also said social distancing is useless since the virus is spread by aerosol drops that travel about 30 meters, or 98 feet, or so before landing. Closures have had terrible unintended consequences, and everything should be open tomorrow, he said.
Hodkinson is not alone in his assessment of the virus, but his viewpoint and others like him are being drowned out by constant fear mongering by the mainstream and social media which seem to want to keep us in a constant state of fear.
A CNN “medical analyst” suggesting we put Christmas on the shelf this year is just another example of taking things to the extreme. We don’t think it will or should happen.
