What grade/subject do you teach? 

Middle School Special Education and High School Algebra

 

Where did you grow up and where did you go to college? 

I grew up in Redfield and went to Black Hills State University for college.

 

How long have you been a teacher? 

18 years

 

Why did you become a teacher?: 

Teaching is what our family does so I guess it was just a natural thing. 

 

What do you love about teaching?

I love when students who struggle finally get the concept(s) they have been struggling with, and that look of pride and accomplishment on their faces says it all. 

 

Would you like to share any personal info about coaching, family, pets?

I grew up here in Hill City, then moved to Wyoming for 10 years before moving back to the Hills.  

I am married to Mr. O’Brien, who teaches 4th grade here in Hill City.  

We have triplets, who are in elementary school.  

During our free time, we enjoy traveling (I have been to all but four of the states in the United States), camping, fishing, being outdoors, the kids have music lessons, our boys play baseball and basketball, and our daughter plays softball and soccer…so they keep us busy with games and practices.  

I also coach middle school track in the spring.

I enjoy playing volleyball and baseball/softball.
