JeanAnne Wannamaker

JeanAnne (Tyler) Wannamaker was born Feb. 22, 1942 in the small farming town of Veblen, S.D., to Lloyd “Frenchie” and Florence (Vrchota) Tyler.
 
Jean Anne met Bill Wannaker, an Air Force man, and married him in Amarillo, Texas. In 1965 they moved to Vancouver, Wash., where they raised two sons, Chris and Kent. The two remained in Vancouver for the full duration (44 yrs) of their marriage until Bill passed away.
 
JeanAnne began working at a young age, first in the Hill City (S.D.) Zoo for Hal Wheaton and then in Coze Diner for Alta Howe.  She continued with restaurant work all through her teen years. Later in life, she worked for both Del Monte and Frito Lay, eventually retiring from her management job in the fresh seafood department at Safeway.
 
JeanAnne had a special bond with her sister, Penny, and cousin, Barbara.  The three of them spent their childhood together having fun and causing mischief. Their friendship was more than family, and they remained close throughout their lives. They traveled to visit each other as often as they could, oftentimes meeting up in Reno or Las Vegas, Nev. The three “Hotsie Musketeers” still having fun and causing mischief.
 
In between visits they made daily phone calls to catch up, sometimes about kids and family, but, most times just to compare notes on their favorite soap opera, “All my Children.”
 
JeanAnne was always a hard worker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister  and friend. She will  be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again.
 
JeanAnne died March 19, 2020 in Seattle, Wash. She was 78.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Florence Tyler; husband Cecil “Bill” Wannamaker; brother, Mark Tyler; and special cousin, Barbara Burgeson.
 
JeanAnne is survived by  her sons, Chris (Shirley) Wannamaker of Auburn Wash., and Kent (Candace) Wannamaker of New Castle,  Del.; sister, Penny Inglis of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; grandchildren, Dustin, Zachary, Ayla, Stephanie, Taylor and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Vivian, Gachora, Tyler and Ryan; and multiple cousins.
