Jeri Verchio
Jeri Verchio was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Elwood and Selma Ferry.
Jeri was an avid reader and enjoyed being outdoors with family, fishing and wildlife watching.
She was best known by her family for quiet strength and her family learned when Jeri spoke, you better listen. She always put her family first and loved preparing everyone’s favorite foods for birthdays and holidays.
Jeri’s granddaughters were the light of her life and she always took great delight in seeing them and hearing about their lives. She was also well known for her pies when Mike and Jeri owned the Continental Café in Hill City.
On Dec. 24, 2022, Jeri Verchio, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away at 83 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elwood; mother, Selma;sister, Shirley; and brother, Woody.
Jeri is survived by her beloved husband, Mike; son, Tony and his wife Karey; daughter, Joelle Flick and her husband Steve; and granddaughters, Jessicca (Chris) Mooney, Kaitlinn Verchio and Madison Busetti.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Little White Church in Hill City, S.D.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Youth Group at the Little White Church in Hill City.
