Merchants Trick-or-Treat Friday
The annual Merchants’ Trick-or-Treat is taking place in downtown Custer from 4-6 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 30. Community members are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and enjoy a night full of trick-or-treating fun, treats, community and Halloween cheers.
From there, families can head to the Classic Car Trunk or Treat from 4-6 p.m., presented by Custer State Farm and S&B Motor Parts. This is a twist on the normal Show & Shine event, and will once again be held at north 7th Street near S&B. Participants are invited to bring their classic car to the event along with candy for the trick-or-treaters. There are no registration fees for this event, and costumes are encouraged.
There is a Halloween Candy Walk scheduled at Custer Senior Center at the same time the Merchants’ Trick or Treat is going on, and those in the mood to dance can close out the night with a Halloween dance at the Custer Beacon.
Children who trick-or-treat downtown can start their fun out by heading to Western Skies Real Estate to grab a bag in which to put their candy, and then make their way to participating businesses downtown, which will have signs indicating their participation.
In addition Custer Care and Rehab Center welcomes trick-or-treaters again this year.
Children are asked to stop up and see the residents while they are in town for the Merchants’ Trick-or-Treat. Center officials say events like these make staff and residents’ day and they would appreciate seeing trick-or-treaters and their family.
Due to evening meal time and in hopes of getting lots of trick-or-treaters, trick-or-treaters should come to the center from 3-5 p.m.
