Patrick Pulse
Patrick “Pat” Robert Pulse passed peacefully at his home in the Black Hills Nov. 30, 2024. He was 45.
Patrick was born June 17, 1979, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Daniel and Linda Pulse. Shortly after his birth the family relocated to Hill City, S.D.
Patrick found his favorite things in childhood—he loved fishing, exploring, animals and laughing. Patrick was a prankster from an early age—letting frogs loose in the house—orchestrating snake races both in and outside. As he grew older his spirt remained the same. He spent a lot of time chasing sunsets and watching the moon rise over the hills.
Despite leaving the hills a few times to set off on a new adventure he always found himself back home. For many years Patrick worked alongside his mother and father maintaining bicycles that carried tourists from one end of the Hills to the other. He loved sharing his home with anyone who would appreciate the magic.
The last years of Patrick’s life were spent amongst his friends and family. Patrick was a helper at heart and always found those in need to walk alongside. Patrick’s tenderness meant that he felt things deeply and unfortunately to cope he leaned on alcohol and spent the majority of his adult life battling this addiction. In the end addiction took him before he was able to live out his remaining years on earth. He is at peace now.
Patrick is survived by his parents, Daniel and Linda Pulse; sisters, Jody Glayzer and Staci (Toy) Jonson; four nieces, and a nephew, Adalin, Autumn, Avyella, Willow and Samuel; many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
We will celebrate Patrick’s life at The Little White Church in Hill City Saturday Jan. 18 at 1 pm.
