While the Hill City Senior  Center building may be closed, events that take place at the building are still going on.
“We’re not a building; we’re an organization,” said senior center board president Dale Householder.
Community members can still look forward to almost all the activities that were taking place prior to the senior center building closing. Card playing is being held at Community Lutheran Church. The foot clinic, on the fourth Wednesday of the month, is at the Boys and Girls Club. And the Senior Center annual meeting  and potluck Sept. 17 will be held at 5:30 at the Little White Church.
The only activity that has been canceled so far is the exercise class.
The center is expected to reopen March 1. Meanwhile the senior center board is acquiring bids for the building’s  new commercial kitchen. The plans for the kitchen have been approved by the state of South Dakota.
