“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas,” Calvin Coolidge

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate the library’s 50th Anniversary. It was a great event with good company, beautiful flowers, and tasty food.

Check out the Friends of the Library Tree at Trees and Trains at the SD State Railroad Museum. The trees will available to view on weekends when the SD State Railroad Museum is open. $3.50 per individual; kids 10 and under are free; family rate is $10.

We have a wonderful selection of Christmas books and movies available for check out.

As a reminder we are still quarantining all library materials, so please put all library returns in the book drop on the north side of the library. Also, the library is not a recycling center; we have no use for used magazines. Thank you.

The library will be closed Dec. 24-27 and Jan. 1-3.

The Book Club will not meet in December, but we will meet on Jan. 26 at the library at 5 p.m. to discuss “Siddhartha” by Hermann Hesse. Everyone is welcome! Book Club Books are available at the library help desk.

Storytime is on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. You are invited to join the wonderful preschoolers from the Boys & Girls Club for stories and fun activities.

I look forward to seeing each and every one of you at your Hill City Public Library.
