Jacob Jarrett

Jacob Lee Jarrett, 40, of Rapid City, S.D. passed away July 20, 2025 
Jacob was born Aug. 21, 1984 in Rawlins, Wyo. to Paul Jarrett and Melody Jarrett (Tromburg).
After attending Custer High School, he went on to attend National American University for IT Network Engineering and Dakota State University for Computer Science. Jacob was very skilled at all things computers. He worked for SoDak Marketing starting off designing websites and building computer systems for businesses then advanced to co-founding SoDak Tech with his boss and friend Brian Maruska.  Jacob specialized in rebuilding computers and main frames for resale; he continued to develop computer systems and web designs for businesses in the Rapid City area. 
While married to Bethany Bland-Jarrett, they had one son, Flynn Jarrett.
Jacob and Hana Fox-Jarrett started dating Aug. 25, 2016. They married  Nov. 20, 2022. He and Hana provided a home for rescue animals to include bunnies, a miniature Dachshund named Finley, a Chiweenie named Gene and a Parrot named Kayce. They filled their lives and home with joy. 
Jacob always said, “I love my house of miniature things,” which included Hana because she was so much shorter than him.
Jacob loved video games, especially playing them with his son Flynn and wife Hana, as well as spending quality time with his wife, family and his animals. He also loved camping and four wheeling and pranking his brothers as they were growing up. 
Jacob was an aerospace enthusiast who once attended the Kennedy Space Center youth program in Florida. He was also a big fan of “Star Trek.” He loved space shows/movies. He tracked the space flights and was fascinated by Elon Musk’s space program. 
Jacob had a loving, caring attitude as well as a wonderful sense of humor. He would help anyone in need even if it was his last dollar. 
Jacob was preceded in death by his father, Paul Michael Jarrett of Rapid City; stepfather, Alva (Gene) Tromburg of Custer, S.D.; his stepbrother, Jeff Tromburg of Rawlins;  grandparents, Jack and Maggie Jarrett of Lakeland, Fla.; and grandmother, Betty J. Higgley of Riverton, Wyo.
He is survived by his wife, Hana Jarrett of Rapid City; his mother, Melody Tromburg of Custer; son, Flynn Jarrett of Custer; sister, Ashley Jarrett of South Carolina; stepbrothers, Stan Tromburg of Cheyenne, Wyo., Dan Tromburg (Liz) of Casper, Wyo., and Brian Tromburg (Deanna) of Casper; brother-in-laws, Taner Fox of Spearfish, S.D., and Calub Fox of Sturgis, S.D.; father-in-law and mother-in-law Glen and Sam Fox of Rapid City; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
