Robert (Bob) Charles Crisman, passed away July 11, 2022.  
Bob was born August 9, 1949, in Rapid City, and graduated high school in Hill City in 1967. 
He married his high school sweetheart, Colleen McNulty, and joined the Air Force right away. 
Bob and Colleen had two children Angela and Dale. Bob retired in 2004 after 31 years of service at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. He was most famous for rappelling the faces to maintain the majestic figures.

Robert Hayes

Robert E. “Bob” Hayes, 94, passed away July 14, 2022 in California. 
Bob was born in Rapid City, S.D. Oct. 16, 1927 to J. Edwald and Gladys (Roberts) Hayes of Keystone, S.D. 
Bob received his primary and early high school education in Keystone and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1945.  After high school, Bob enlisted in the Army and started his college education at South Dakota State College in Brookings in the Army Specialized Training Reserve Program (ASTRP).  

Lois Sherwood

Lois Mary Sherwood, 93, of Hill City, S.D., died July 19, 2022, at Monument Health Custer Hospital in Custer, S.D.
Lois was born July 28, 1928, in Arlington, S.D. She was born to Krestian E. and Helma M. (Dahl) Nielsen. To the union of this marriage included Lois, an older brother, Lloyd, and a younger sister, Donna.
Lois graduated high school in 1946 in Arlington and was the homecoming queen that year. Lois was baptized and confirmed in the American Lutheran Church. 

Dolores Schrier

Dolores “Dee” Jean Schrier was born Oct. 26, 1939, in Elliott, Iowa, to Harold and Cleo (DeWitt) Petty. She and Dale were married in 1958.
Dolores was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the No. 1 biggest fan, watching so many kids from the half-way court bleachers in Hill City, S.D. One of the family’s greatest memories of Dolores was her love for family gatherings. At the annual Schrier Christmas she always made sure everyone in attendance received Christmas socks.  

Rickey Retzlaff

Rickey “Rick” Retzlaff was born June 22, 1947 at Norfolk, Neb., to Delbert and Lois (Klug) Retzlaff.      
Rick married Karen Schaefer April 28, 1979, and enjoyed many years of marriage and memories at their home in Osceola, Neb., where Rick worked for the local pipeline and managed the terminal outside of town.  Later in life Rick resided in Hill City, S.D.
He had a passion for many things that include Husker football, baseball, golf, horses, hunting and camping, but his biggest passion was his love for his family and friends.

Arlene Reetz

Arlene Reetz was born Aug. 8, 1940, to Marion and Katherine Hoover in Appleton, Wis. She was the second of six children.
Arle grew up outside of Neenah, Wis., on the shores of Lake Winnebago. It was there that she found her passion for the outdoors and animals. She enjoyed swimming, waterskiing, hunting, fishing and raising pheasants. She worked in the family bakery where she developed a love of helping people and conveying love through the expression of food.

Randall Lundquist

Randall Darwin Lundquist was born Nov. 21, 2012, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Adam and Katie (Coy) Lundquist. He was named after both of his grandfathers. He grew up in Worthing, S.D., and had just completed the third grade at Worthing Elementary.
Randall was a good kid, a wonderful student and devoted friend who was friends with everyone. He was a great big brother, who always looked out for his younger brother, Grey.

Janice Andersen Winger was born to Chris S. and Stella Andersen Oct. 5, 1929.
She graduated from South Dakota State University and attended Black Hills State College.  She met her husband while she was teaching in Worland, Wyo. Following her marriage to Edgar Winger in 1954, they went to Peru. Their son Philip was born in Talara, Peru in 1958.
The family moved to Belem, Para, Brazil where Ed taught Brazilian geologists well site geology.  Michael was born in Belem in 1960.

Dick Drummond

Dick Drummond was born July 7, 1935, in Dell Rapids, S.D., to Webster and Julia Drummond.
Dick served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-66.
Dick was the proud founder of Ricardos Restaurant in Norfolk, Neb., in 1975 where he raised his family.
He married his wife Kathy in 2002, and traveled many places, especially south to their favorite spot in Rockport, Texas, where they spent their time sailing and with their American Legion friends.
