It got late early for the Custer High School football team last Friday evening in Hartford as the West Central Trojans broke out to a six touchdown lead and ran around and over the Wildcats during a 42-19 win in Custer’s season-opening game.
Custer head coach Dave Williams said it was simply a case of the Trojans being bigger, faster and stronger than the Wildcats, with the Trojans suiting up nearly 80 players for the game. Custer made the trip east with 28 players.
“They are a big, physical team. They are legit,” Williams said. “They are really good.”
