10 years ago, 2014 — It was a perfect night for the Custer Christmas parade with temperatures in the mid-40s. With a couple dozen floats and lighted vehicles entered in the 25th annual Custer Christmas Parade, two floats earned judges’ awards at the end of the night. Black Hills Electric Co-op took the award for Best Lights, while the awards for Best Music and Judges’ Choice went to Crazy Horse Memorial. Parade marshalls were Colleen Hennessy and Jim Frank...Dr. Joy Falkenburg tried her hand at fighting crime when she attempted to chase down a thief at the west side Safeway in Rapid City.
