The Kids’ Summer Reading Contest is off to a great start! At this time, we 79 kids registered. The kids earn weekly prizes and if they complete all six weeks of reading their name is entered in the grand prize drawing for their age group.
All reading logs are due by July 15 for entry in the grand prize drawings Wednesday, July 17. The free programs provided by the library and hosted by the HC Boys & Girls Club have been well attended.
Much of South Dakota’s drinking water has more naturally occurring lithium in it than the federal government preliminarily advises as a healthy level, according to numbers in a recent study released by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Lead study author Melissa Lombard hopes the data contributes to further research.
