Dr. Adam French visited the Hill City Evergreen Garden Club March 27 to teach a seminar on climate change in the Black Hills and how it will affect gardens. French is with the Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences Program in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City.
In his presentation, French discussed changes in Black Hills weather, future projections and predictions for the coming growing season.
Easter is coming early this year, and with it the churches in Hill City and Keystone are busy preparing special services to celebrate the holiday.
In Hill City The Little White Church (LWC) will have Palm Sunday services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Mar. 24.
There will be a Good Friday service at 6 p.m. Mar. 29. During this service, the elders of LWC will be taking turns speaking about the events leading up to the crucifixion, and there will be communion.
Lions Club Bingo will be serving up fun for a great cause this month — the Hill City School District Angel Fund.
Lions Club Board President Stefanie Doaty says that 75 percent of the bingo night proceeds will be donated to the Angel Fund.
“A lot of people don’t know what the Angel Fund is,” says Doaty.
The Angel Fund was established as a means to help Hill City School District (HCSD) families who are behind on their student breakfast and lunch accounts.
